A Great Celebration

Hats Off To Josh

Saturday night we had a great turnout as many came out to celebrate with us what God has done in our lives through Josh's battle against AML. We were blessed by so many different things, from a local limo service donating a ride for Josh and his friends to the party, to another family donating a game truck. Many people donated food and time and we were blessed by all that came to show their support of us during this journey.

Games 2 U, brought in this trailer that has video games inside, along with the hamster balls, lazer tag and an "angry birds" launcher game.

Josh had a great time running around, doing everything that he hadn't been able to do for 7 months. He was thrilled to see so many friends, and loved playing the video games and in the gym with the "hamster balls". He even managed to get run-over by a hamster ball and hurt his foot, which slowed him down enough to sit and talk with people.

He actually did so much that he got sick on Sunday and ended up in the hospital overnight (as a precaution) due to an upset stomach and fever. The irony of it all was that we ended up in the very same hospital room that we started the journey in seven months ago, room 603 at BSA. Fortunately, it was a very short stay, as his fever broke and they let us out before noon on Monday.

When it was all said and done, Joshua Nelson said it all when asked how much fun the party was.  Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. We know that this journey is not over, and that God is still at work in our lives; we know that we have reach a place along the way where we can stop and celebrate God enduring faithfulness.

Our family has been blessed by your love and support.

End of Chemo Party This Saturday

Join us this Saturday, February 25th as we celebrate all that God has done. Josh tuned 18 this month and God showed us His grace and mercy by sparing his life. We want to celebrate with you what God has done.

This has been a journey through the valley of the shadow of death. We have faced challenges beyond our imagination and have experienced God's faithfulness.

Josh had a bone marrow biopsy 2 weeks ago, and the initial results show that he is still in remission. We are waiting for a genetic test to determine if the leukemia is still at work in his body. He will need to have blood tests monthly and at least another bone marrow test or 2 later in the year. There are still some side effects that he will need to have treated and checked, but over all his health continued to improve on a daily basis.

Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement, visits and acts of kindness and service. Please join us as we celebrate God's faithfulness and blessing.
