Wheeler Peak Backpacking Trip

Do you have any challenges in your life? Have you ever faced a difficult challenge all alone and wished you had someone there to help you with it?

Last summer I went on a backpacking trip with some of the guys in the office. We faced the challenge of climbing the tallest mountain in New Mexico, Wheeler Peak. The mountain is 13,161 feet high.

We spent the night at Lost Lake
which is one of the most beautiful spots along the trail. That night we saw a bear walk across the mountain about 1000 feet above us and a multitude of long horn sheep. Early the next morning as we had our coffee and breakfast
we watched as about a hundred elk worked their way down the face of the mountain towards the lake.

After breakfast we started out to conquer the summit. It was both
a psychological as well as a physical challenge. One of our team had to drop out due t o a hip injury, but two
of us, working together made it to the summit.

As men, we tend to face the challenges in our life solo, but as Christians, we have brothers in Christ who can face those challenges with us.

This summer (July 28-30), we are inviting you to join us as we face the challenge of climbing Wheeler Peak together.

We are having an information meeting on June 1st at the church. Call me at the church if you want more information.

Here is the picture of Kurtis and Brian on the summit.
