Tuesday in Houston

Another day in hot and humid Houston. Josh is tired today, we noticed the dark circles around his eyes again yesterday, which usually means his hemoglobin is low. This morning they confirmed that his blood counts are low again so will give him 2 units of blood and a unit of platelets.

He had a good day yesterday and got up and walked around 3 times. The doctors want him up and walking as much as he can to keep his lungs clear and it will stimulate blood cell production. It also helps him emotionally to get out of his room.

We continue to pray and hope that him blood count number will improve enough for him to come home soon.

This morning in my devotions I read from 2 Corinthians 10. I was again reminded that this world is not our home and that this is not a battle of flesh and blood.

In verse 4-5 it tells us,

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

It is easy to get frustrated and discouraged as we ride the roller coaster, waiting for Josh it get better. But when we remember that God is in control and that this is not a flesh and blood battle, but a battle for the spiritual souls of people all around the world, we begin to look to see what He is doing through this difficult situation. Knowing that God desires to see others come to Him through us.

Paul goes on to write:

Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our area of activity among you will greatly expand, so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you.

Our prayer is that as you walk this journey with us, praying daily and encouraging us, that your faith will grow, and that as a result of your faith, others will come to a relationship with God as they see Him doing a work in your life.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support.
