Waiting For the Next Step

Josh had a good day yesterday with very little fever. He is still very tired and has gotten weaker. We will work on getting him up and walking more today, he only walked once yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon they moved us back down to the pediatric floor (10th floor). We don't have as nice of a view, but he sleeps better as the nurses are used to working with younger patients. It is also helpful to have his doctors on the say floor as they are able to check on him more frequently. The nurse on the 12th floor were very nice and loved coming in to see Josh because of his great attitude so I think Josh had a hard time moving again, but heal ready knows all of the staff down here on the 10th and they come in and cheer him up.

They have scheduled Josh for a bone marrow aspiration tomorrow to determine how well the chemotherapy worked on his leukemia. Based on the results they will decide when to start the next round of chemotherapy. The next round will be 8 days of treatment with the same three medications as before.

Keep Ilene and Sarah in your prayers as they drive back to Houston today. Ilene drove back to Dalhart (700 miles) on Friday to get somethings done at home and to take Sarah to a friends 16th birthday party that she had been looking forward to. They also got a chance to sort the mail and pet the dogs who may have forgotten who we are.

God continues to show his faithfulness. Each day we trust Him as we walk this journey. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

  1. Woke up thinking about Josh...this morning? Yes it is extremely early. Out of a good sleep I was summoned by God to pray for Josh. And to express to you God's love and concern for Josh, I am barely conscience. Kidding.
Lord, precious Almighty Father. Creator of life and bringer of Joy. Great Healer and Comforter. Prince of peace, God of Wonders beyond our comprehension I thank you that your name can roll off my toungue and as I call upon you, you answer in sweet love. Father I lift up Josh to you God, as he has stood so faithful to your promises of Life in abundance. Father deliver him from this evil. Lift him in your righteous right hand and raise him above the power of the flesh. Deliver him into the power of your spirit. God right now may your presence become all he knows as you tangibly reach down and bring him out of this valley of death and destruction. No weapon formed against Josh shall prosper and may he be a walking testimony of your healing power and grace. God restore in him a pure heart of love o God and restore in his family the faith you have built up and the enemy has tried to tear down. Bring them to victory in every step of this journey, that you may be glorified. In all things God, may you be glorified. Father we love you and thank you in all circumstances for the blood that was shed, that we might have hope in the darkness. Let your guiding light shine brightly over the Walton's as they move on to the next step on this journey. In Jesus Name. AMEN.

  2. Josh, Brian, Ilene & Sarah,

Praying for you today, Josh that as you go through this test God would give you strength and endurance. Praying for good results. Praying for the rest of you as you tire of looking at 4 walls in a hospital that God would bring people into your life to encourage you and walk with you. Wishing you were closer so we could help out. Sarah enjoyed your pictures and glad you got to go to your friends party. Blessings on your day,

    Love, Sharon Leuz
